Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 to start the 2016 season, defeating Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon at Cardinal stadium, 17-11.
For the second-straight game, junior attack Tim Keith led the Cardinals in scoring, netting five goals to total 11 in his first two games. Keith also set up two other scores for CUA and leads Catholic with four assists and 15 points this season.
The Cards scored the first goal of the game and never trailed in the contest. CUA went on to explode for five goals in the second quarter and seven in third to take control of the game.
Keith registered the first three goals of the game for Catholic and his third at the start of the second quarter put the Cardinals up for good.
Junior Victor Licata put in the fourth score for CUA and finished the game with three goals; second-most in the contest. Licata also picked up three ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper Harrison Holak faced 28 shots and made 19 saves to pick up his second win of the year.
After two-straight home games to open the season, the Cardinals hit the road for the first time as they travel to Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday, February 23 at 6 p.m.
