Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic women's basketball team fell in the Landmark Conference Semifinal at Elizabethtown on Wednesday night by a final score of 81-64.
Elizabethtown jumped out to a 13-4 lead in Wednesday night's semifinal, never relinquishing the advantage to the Cardinals. The Cardinals rallied with a 12-5 run to get within two points with 1:05 remaining in the first, but Etown hit two late threes to take a six-point lead into the second before extending the lead by seven more points in the second.
The Cardinals cut the fourth-quarter deficit from 20+ points down to 15 with 5:43 to play, but the Blue Jays ended the contest with a 17-point win and will play for the Landmark Championship at Scranton.
Erin Doherty scored 20 points to lead Catholic's offense and nabbed four steals on the defensive end while Rachel Bussanich tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Anna Scoblick grabbed seven boards and handed out two assists in 21 minutes off the bench while Kathryn Greenhut pulled in five rebounds and handed out two assists in 21 minutes as well.
At 18-8, Catholic has won at least 18 games in each full season since going 16-10 in 2018-19.
