GERMANTOWN, Md. - The Catholic University men's swimming and diving team currently sits in first place following the first day of the 2022 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships.
The Cardinals have totaled 234 points after six events as they seek their sixth-straight title. The team holds a 37-point lead over Drew (197).
Sophomore Nathan Ober won gold in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.22 seconds while senior Jeffrey Schriefer-Flores grabbed third in 21.50 seconds and freshman Liam Crecca placed fourth with a time of 21.51 seconds.
The trio also partnered with freshman Luke Grossi to place third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.27.
Ober, Schriefer-Flores, sophomore Jack Hufner and junior Ellis Prescott placed second in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:27.66.
Prescott also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:39.60 and junior Jackson Hicks earned bronze in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:56:25.
Freshman Seth Greer won gold in 1-meter diving with a score of 381.70 points while junior Troy Young took home bronze with 304.80 points.
The Cardinals look to extend their lead on Saturday as day two of the Landmark Conference Championships begin with the prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 5:30 p.m.
