WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic men's swimming and diving team faced off against Randolph-Macon on Friday evening for their first home meet of the season. The Cardinals dominated the Yellow Jackets at the DuFour Center Pool, defeating them by over 100 points, 185-77.
Reid Knuckles and
Hank McGuire took on the first individual event for the Cardinals in the 1000 Freestyle. Knuckles was the leader in the race, finishing with a time of 10:36.50, while McGuire finished right on his tail, finishing second with a time of 10:37.46
In the Men's 200 Freestyle, two Cardinals finished within milliseconds of each other:
Shawn Mashburn and
Daniel Green who took first and second in the race. Mashburn finished with a time of 1:48.77 and Green was just behind him at 148.81.
The Tsakumis brothers had a successful showing, with
Teddy Tsakumis placing first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 52.38 and the 100 Freestyle with a time of 49.31, while
Alexander Tsakumis took first in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 53.76. The Tsakumis brothers, alongside
Jack Thompson and
James Caldwell took first in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:29.03.
Up next, the Cardinals will travel to Elizabethtown for a meet in the Alumni Pool on Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m.
