Cardinals Cruise Past Blue Jays in Road Meet

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic Men's Swimming and Diving took a trip to Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon for a face off in the Alumni Pool. The Cardinals powered past the Blue Jays in the meet, defeating them 179-78.

John Holler led the way, picking up two first-place finishes at the meet. Holler took first by nearly 12 seconds in the 200 Individual Medley finishing with a time of 1:59.67. He later claimed the gold in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 48.41. Paul Lacava and Jack Thompson took second and third in the same event, Lacava finishing at 49.19 and Thomposon finishing at 50.06.

Teddy Tsakumis also picked up two individual victories against the Blue Jays, taking first in the 50 Freestyle and again in the 200 Backstroke. Tsakumis, alongside Bill Purcell, Alex Tsakumis, and Thompson, took home a victory in the 200 Medley Relay, finishing first with a time of 1:38.26 in the event.

Hank McGuire added another strong performance for the Cardinals, taking first in the 500 Freestyle by nearly 22 with a time of 5:06.75.

In the 200 Free Relay, the team of Lacava. Walter Cunningham, Tighe Hynes, and Christian Miraglia grabbed another first-place finish, clocking in at 1:32.69

Catholic Men's Swimming and Diving is currently undefeated against Elizabethtown in series history, this win bringing them to 6-0. The Cardinals now sit at 3-1 this season.

Up next, Catholic will head to Ashland, Va. to participate in the Yellow Jacket Invite. The event will take place on Friday, Nov. 21 and conclude on Sunday, November 23. Randolph-Macon will be hosting the event in the Estes Aquatic Center.
