Cardinals Back in Top 25, Ranked at No. 24 in WBCA Poll

LILBURN, Ga. - On Tuesday, the Catholic University women's basketball team climbed back into the national rankings, coming in at No. 24 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Cardinals (9-1) are ranked for the second time this season after they were placed at No. 25 in the WBCA poll back on Nov. 30. The team has been idle since it concluded the Jamie L. Roberts Classic with back-to-back wins over William Smith and Pfeiffer.

Catholic has won nine of its first 10 games for the second time in the last three seasons. The team also began the 2019-20 campaign with a 9-1 record en route to a 21-7 overall record and an appearance in the Landmark Conference championship game.

The Cardinals are one of two teams from the Landmark Conference mentioned in this week's poll as Drew is one of nine teams receiving votes. The Rangers (10-0) are off to their best start in team history and have won a program-record 10 games.

Catholic returns to action on Saturday with a Landmark Conference contest at Susquehanna beginning at 4 p.m.
