WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Catholic women's basketball team headed to Williamsport, Pa. to take on Lycoming in the hopes of staying undefeated in Landmark play. The Cardinals offense shined, leading them to defeat the Warriors 92-44 and move to 2-0 in conference matches.
The Cardinals scored 36 points off of fast breaks against the Warriors, which was more than a third of the total points in today's matchup. Additionally, Catholic had shot .432, its highest percentage so far this season.
Carly Catania put the Cardinals on the board first, tipping in a rebound to start the game.
Lauren Kraft started out hot on offense, sinking a pair of threes and scoring in the paint.
Olivia Boccella found herself open outside the three-point arc twice in the quarter, giving the Cardinals an 8-point lead with 2:42 left in the quarter. Lycoming answered Boccella with a three-pointer of their own and making good at the free throw line, but a third three-pointer from Kraft closed the quarter 16-11 in Catholic's favor.
The second quarter was the highest scoring quarter for the Cardinals all season, racking up 32 points. Catholic opened up the quarter with a ten point run. Kraft and
Allie Falesto drained threes while Catania and
Ella Iacone collected in the paint. In her return from injury, the preseason All-American,Â
Anna Scoblick, contributed a layup this quarter as well. The Warriors' Summer Emlet broke the streak from downtown, but the Cardinals responded with six more points of their own. Kraft and
Raquel Guidetti had their highest scoring quarter, earning ten and eight points, respectively. Catholic ended the half with double the amount of points Lycoming had at 48 to 24.
After the break, the Cardinals still found ways to the basket by creating opportunities off of steals and fast breaks. Catholic scored ten fast break points during the third quarter and collected five steals. The Cardinals outscored the Warriors once again, 20 to 8, ending the quarter 72-36.Â

Brooke Kroptavich all found their first collegiate buckets during the fourth quarter. Kropatavich went 2-2 at the free throw line early in the final quarter. Kubasko and Archibold each sank a three-pointer, while O'Dowd converted on a layup. Johnson earned a point at the free throw line with 30 seconds left on the clock, bringing the end of the game to a close for the Catholic offense. The Cardinals sealed the deal, outsourcing the Warriors 20-8 during the fourth quarter, resulting in a 92-44 win.
Lauren Kraft scored 23 points in today's game, a career-high for the sophomore. Additionally, she led the team with six rebounds and four steals.Â
Raquel Guidetti had a day, scoring a career-high 14 points. She also earned four rebounds, all on defensive, and two assists.
Carly Catania led the team with five assists and also chalked up 11 points.
Olivia Boccella also earned 11 points, with nine of them collected beyond the three-point arc. Senior
Anna Scoblick made her return from injury in today's game, chalking up two points and four assists.
