Cardinals Add Home Date Against No. 19/25 Gettysburg

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University women's basketball team has added a home game against No. 19/25 Gettysburg at Franny Murray Court on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.

The game will be part of a doubleheader as the men's basketball team hosts a non-conference contest against Mary Washington beginning at 5 p.m.

The Cardinals and Bullets were orginally scheduled to play in the Stevens women's basketball holiday tournament on Dec. 29, but the event was canceled as a result of the rise and rapid spread of COVID cases in New Jersey.

Gettysburg (7-1) is currently ranked at No. 19 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll and at No. 25 in the WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll while Catholic (9-1) is receiving votes in both.

The game will mark the first meeting between the two teams since Jan. 17, 2005 when the Cardinals posted a 65-49 road win at Gettysburg's Bream Gymnasium. The last time the two teams met inside Raymond A. DuFour Center was Dec. 4, 1997.
