WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's basketball team evened its Landmark Conference record and finishes the season with a 16-9 overall record thanks to 63-54 victory over Moravian on Senior Day.

Four different Cardinals scored in double figures, including seniors Briana Bull and Payton Smith, who scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. They were joined in the starting lineup by classmate Samantha Cowan as the trio played their final games in a Catholic jersey.

The Cards battled back to overcome a three-point first quarter deficit to take the lead into the break, 22-21.

Catholic added one point to its advantage after the third before the two teams truly came alive on the offensive end in the fourth.

Both teams enjoyed its most productive periods in the final frame.

A Moravian 3-pointer to open the fourth gave the Greyhounds the lead back but Catholic quickly went ahead on a free throw by freshman CC Mooney and a layup by sophomore Caroline Sullivan.

Moravian had one last run, 6-2, to tie the game at 46-all but Smith came through with the go-ahead layup on the next possession to put the Cardinals up for good.

Catholic connected on six-straight free throws to ice the game and closed out the contest on a 17-8 run.

Sophomore Sydney Poindexter led the Cards with 14 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. She also added a steal and a block.

Bull finished with seven rebounds, a block, a steal and an assist in addition to her 11 points.

Sophomore Mollie Reynolds rounded out the double-digit scorer with 10 points in addition to her three steals, three assists and two rebounds.
