WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's tennis team took on an undefeated Randolph team (3-0) on Sunday and were topped, 8-1.
Rookie Kyle Weber came through with the Cardinals victory as he won a tightly-contested match at No. 5 singles. He took the first set, 6-3, and after a 6-6 tie, he earned a 10-8 tie-breaker for the win.
Junior No. 1 Jan Lasota also had a strong match despite falling in the first set, he battled back to force a tiebreaker in the second, but was edged, 7-5.
The Cardinals now head to Hilton Head, S.C., for its annual Spring Break Trip that begins on March 5.
