TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore
Lorenzo Neri was named Landmark Athlete of the Week for the second time in the fall season, it was announced today. Neri became the first athlete in the conference to earn the award twice this fall and it is the third time in his career he has received the honor.
Neri picked up two victories for the Cardinals against Gettysburg over the weekend in a 5-2 win to improve Catholic's record to 5-1. It started off with a competitive match at number two doubles for Neri and
Ian Arenas but the pairing prevailed 7-5 after taking a 4-1 lead early in the set. Neri then played number one singles against Connor McPartland for the Bullets and came away with a comfortable win in straight sets by scores of 6-0 and 6-3.
Neri so far on the season has picked up 11 wins in total, six doubles and five singles. The sophomore has a total of 32 victories in his career thus far.
