Glassboro, N.J. / Lewisburg, Pa. – Catholic women's track was represented at two meets this weekend as head coach
Steve Rahn sent student-athletes to the Oscar Moore Invitational hosted by Rowan and the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.
The Cardinals dominated the 100m hurdles at the Oscar Moore Invitational as they occupied five of the eight qualifying spots.
Brigid Byrnes and
Mia McConnell went one-two in the prelims with times of 16.53 and 16.86 respectively.
Edith Tomasek (4th, 17.09),
Alicia Vo (5th, 17.22), and
Julia Gethard (8th, 19.48) followed to set Catholic up for success in the finals. Tomasek claimed victory the second time around with a 16.64 and Gethard took fourth with a 19.79.
Three Cardinals raced their way into the top seven in the 400m hurdles. Byrnes returned to finished second with a 1:05.92 while McConnell finished fifth with a 1:07.41. Vo rounded out the pack with a 1:09.55 for seventh.
Ciara Donegan placed third in the shot put after recording a 11.10m mark. She finished behind a competitor from Rowan and Bowie State to notch her highest finish in the event so far this season.
Other notable performances included
Zoey Brown's 200m run where she took ninth with a time of 27.41 and her 400m race where she claimed sixth with a 1:02.69.
Competing at the Bison Outdoor Classic,
Kate Inglis crushed her 3000m steeplechase program record with a new personal best time of 10:49.69. She placed seventh in the event that featured 62 competitors from D1, DII, and DIII programs. Her previous best was an 11:07.96 set back in 2023.
Later on in the evening,
Laurel McMahon broke the program record in the 10,000, finishing in 37:46.47. Her time breaks
Georgia Nussey's program record by more than 30 seconds. Nussey finished the race in 38:34.92.
Emily Moehringer also has an outstanding showing at the Bucknell meet, moving into second on the program's all-time list in the 1500m. She clocked a 4:31.68 to improve her personal best by over five seconds, with her previous best of 4:36.99 coming at the 2024 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships. Her performance put her just 0.29 seconds behind recent graduate,
Lauren Cerda, who holds onto the program record with a 4:31.39.
Clare Marsh will compete for the Cardinals on Sunday at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
