Ross Natoli's team finishes the regular season with a record of 26-9 while completing Landmark Conference play with a record of 13-5.
After Juniata tied the contest at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Catholic scored four runs on four hits in the top of the seventh in what would prove to be the difference in the 7-3 affair. Tate retired Derek Zelesnick to start the inning before hitting Joe Marini with a pitch. Zach Burton singled through the right side to put runners on the corners for Mitchel Johnson. Johnson came through with a double down the left field line, putting Catholic ahead 5-3. Tate walked Dante Pozzi before being removed from the contest.
Now with a new pitcher on the mound, Pozzi and Johnson advanced on a passed ball before Lucas Malave singled to center to drive in both runs and put Catholic ahead 7-3. After issuing a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh, Cormac Terry struck out three straight to complete the shutdown inning. Terry allowed just two hits and struck out six across the final three innings to earn a nine-out save.
Danny Fitzgerald picked up the win for Catholic, pitching 6.0 innings, allowing three runs, and striking out six batters. Burton had three hits for the Cardinals while Malave and Michael Napolitano each had a multi-hit game. Malave also singled in the fourth inning to score Pozzi and put Catholic ahead 2-1 at the time.
