Five Cardinals Selected to All-Landmark Conference Teams

TOWSON, Md.  – The Catholic baseball team had five players selected to the 2026 All-Landmark teams, it was announced today. Sammy Burman and Luke Cardman highlighted the selections for the Cardinals, each earning First Team All-Landmark honors.

Burman and Cardman each earned first team honors for the first time in their careers with Burman earning his second career All-Landmark selection after a second team honor last season. Burman was on the first team as a designated hitter and put together one of the best seasons in the conference, slashing .341/.426/.704 with 13 doubles, 10 home runs and 43 RBIs all of which led the team. His 10 long balls were the fifth-most in a single season in program history and he also finished seventh in slugging percentage (.704) and tied for ninth in OPS (1.130) in the single-season record books. Cardman earned the first All-Landmark selection of his career after posting a solid season on the mound. He had the lowest ERA out of qualified pitchers for Catholic with a 2.87 over 47 innings. He also finished with 39 strikeouts on the season which was the ninth-most in the conference and held opponents to a .237 batting average against him.

The lone Cardinal on the second team was Will Hanson who earned a spot as a relief pitcher to receive his first career All-Landmark selection. Hanson was the go to pitcher out of the pen for Catholic this season, pitching 32.1 innings over 18 appearances. He had the lowest ERA on the team with a 1.95, the seventh-lowest in a single season in program history (min. 25 IP), while also punching out 27 batters throughout the season.

Both Roman Tozzi and Matthew Fisher received Honorable Mention All-Landmark honors to round out the selections for Catholic. For Tozzi, it was his third career All-Landmark honor after leading the team in innings pitched with 54.2 and finishing with a 3.46 ERA with 46 strikeouts. His best start of the year came against Moravian when he struck out a career-high 13 batters over 8.1 innings. Fisher also earned his third career All-Landmark nod, this time at first base. He finished the season hitting .310 with 36 hits and 19 runs driven in.
