Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Catholic University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 8 Gettysburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bullets were dominant throughout, scoring five or more goals in each quarter. Jack Dulveany and Ryan Certuno led Gettysburg's attack with four goals apiece, while George Raymond provided seven assists.
Senior Ryan Carroll netted Catholic's first goal midway through the opening quarter to slice the Bullet lead in half, converting a Luke D'Ambrogi feed to finish past Colin Laforty. Gettysburg, however, netted the next five goals to take a 7-1 lead to the first quarter break and never looked back.
Connor Pierce and Fitz McLaughlin each scored twice for the Cardinals while D'Ambrogi provided two helpers.
Senior goalkeeper Nic Pezone played well again in defeat, this time registering 18 saves. He also scooped up three ground balls while defender Mason Russo claimed four himself.
The Cardinals will return home for the first time in a month on Saturday when they open Landmark Conference play. Jon Sax's men will do battle with Moravian at 1 p.m.
