GREENSBORO, N.C. — Katie Herman completed a stllar freshman campaign for Catholic University women's swimming and diving on Saturday morning, coming in the NCAA DIII National Championships.
After qualifying with an NCAA B-Cut and school-record time of 51.16, Herman swam in the preliminary rounds of the 100-yard freestyle, finishing 59th.
Herman also earned the right to compete in the 50-yard freesyle at the national meet, having earned a 44th-place finish in that event on Wednesday.
After being named Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and Swimmer of the Year, Herman became the first Cardinal female to compete at nationals since 2009. The freshman brooke five program records this season.
