Cardinals Continue Strong Competition at Day Two of Landmark Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - After a strong day one at the Landmark Conference Championships, the Catholic women's swimming and diving team returned to the Mangione Aquatic Center for day two of competition. The Cardinals continued to build on their point total, sitting in second place at the end of Friday, with a total of 283.5 points.

Molly Foltz led Catholic in the 500 Freestyle with a fourth-place finish in 5:14.60, while Maura Sadowski took sixth in 5:16.43. 

The Cardinals dominated the 200 Individual Medley, sweeping the top three spots. Anna Dymek claimed gold in 2:08.53, followed by Tara Wiarda in second in 2:11.14, and Delainey Brandt in third in 2:13.15.

In the 50 Freestyle, Grace Kelly picked up a podium finish for Catholic, taking home silver with  a time of 24.51. Emily Blaskovich was just behind Kelly, finishing in 24.57. 

The Cardinals closed the evening with another relay victory, this time in the 400 Medley Relay. The squad of Wiarda, Bella Mugno, Dymek, and Blaskovich posted a winning time of 3:52.29.

Catholic will return Saturday for day three of the Landmark Conference Championships where they look to regain a lead over Scranton. Events are set to begin at 10 a.m.
