Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University women's soccer managed a draw in Tuesday's non-conference tilt at Bryn Mawr as sophomore Katarina Bauer netted the equalizer in the 81st minute to make it a 1-1 game. The Cardinals (1-3-1) outshot the Owls (0-3-1) 14-6 in the contest.
After falling behind in the 57th minute on a goal from Koren Woznicki, it was Bauer who finally ended the scoring drought for Catholic, finishing in front of Bryn Mawr keeper Natalie Chorzepa. Sophomore Isabella DeAvila played the ball in from the right side, knocking it off a defender before it found the head of freshman Isabel Doherty. Doherty re-directed the ball in front of the net as an opportunistic Bauer pounced on it and finished easily to tie the contest 80:56 into the match.
The Cardinals recorded one final shot-on-goal in the final nine minutes of the match but weren't able to threaten Chorzepa despite a Bryn Mawr red card in the 87th minute.
Catholic kept the Owls defense busy throughout the contest, totaling 14 shots and peppering seven of them at the target. Chorzepa made six saves in the contest while sophomore Maeve Graham notched four saves in the draw.
Doherty led the contest with six shots, forcing Chorzepa to make a diving save in the 35th minute as she headed the ball towards the low left corner of the net. Bauer's goal was her first of the season and the third of her career. Doherty's assist was the first point of her Catholic career.
Catholic will return to action on Friday as they travel to face Salisbury at 4 p.m.
