Box Score SCRANTON, Pa. - The Catholic University baseball team was limited to just six hits as Susquehanna posted a 14-1 victory in a Landmark Conference Baseball Championship elimination game Saturday night.
With the loss, the Cardinals (29-12) finish just short of their league-leading sixth Landmark Conference title. They will now await to see if they receive an at-large selection to the 2022 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship which begins next week.
The River Hawks scored the game's first 13 runs, taking a 13-0 lead following a six-run seventh.
Catholic scored its lone run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI-triple by junior Zach Burton that scored freshman Matthew Fisher.
Burton finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Freshman Lucas Malave was also 1-for-3 as six different Cardinals each had one hit seniors Peter Giombetti and Matt Tesoriero also one hit apiece.

With the win, the River Hawks advance to Sunday's Landmark Conference championship game where they must beat unbeaten Elizabethtown twice to win their fourth conference title out of the last eight. The Blue Jays are looking for their second and first since 2017.
