Box Score

MADISON, N.J. - Catholic University women's lacrosse senior Julia Piet and junior Caroline Beckett each had five points as the No. 17 Cardinals posted a 13-11 victory over Drew Thursday at Ranger Stadium.

Catholic (8-4, 4-0 LC) posted its fifth-straight win overall and sixth in-a-row against the Rangers on the road.

Piet finished with four goals and one assist for a career-high five points while Beckett totaled five points on five assists, both career highs. It was Beckett's third game with at least five assists this season as she now has 32 in 12 games this season to rank third in the Landmark Conference and 27th nationally.

Facing its largest deficit of the game at 9-4, Drew scored six of the next seven goals to tie the game at 10-10 with 13:25 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Led by two goals from junior Kate Olsen and two points from senior Caitlyn Bowles, the Cardinals totaled three goals in just 56 seconds to take a 13-10 advantage with 9:16 to play.

Meanwhile, Catholic forced the Rangers into turnovers on their next seven possessions with four coming on failed clear attempts as the Cardinals held Drew to just 15-of-29 on clears.

The Rangers (9-4, 2-2 LC) picked up their final goal on the man-advantage with just 13 seconds left.

Catholic led 7-4 at halftime after outscoring the Rangers 6-2 in the second following a lengthy weather delay. Piet scored four of the team's six goals, including two off assists from Beckett.

Sophomore Rachel Rubenstein and freshman Caroline Regan combined for 10 ground balls and five caused turnovers to headline the Cardinals' defensive effort. Rubenstein added four draw controls while senior Anna Maupin had six.

Senior Rachel Searle was credited with three saves, two ground balls and one caused turnover in earning her eighth win of the year.

Meliha Emini led Drew with two goals, three ground balls, seven draw controls and two caused turnovers. Anna Horne made 12 saves.

The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, April 20 in what will be their first home game in 17 days when they host Goucher at Carlini Field. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m.
