WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic University women's basketball team had 13 different scorers and totaled 18 steals as the No. 20/24 Cardinals posted a 75-29 victory over Goucher Wednesday on Franny Murray Court.

Catholic (18-2, 9-2 LC) continued its best start to a season since 2016-17 when it started 20-2. Prior to tip-off, the team was among nine teams ranked in the NCAA REGION V rankings, including four from the Landmark Conference.

With the win, the Cardinals extended their win streak against the Gophers to 22-straight, including 12 in-a-row at home. The last time they held an opponent to under 30 points was back on Jan. 2, 2019 in a 64-29 victory over Swarthmore at home.

Junior Erin Thompson had a season-high 14 points in just 13 minutes of action while junior Sammie McCarter totaled 10 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Catholic shot a season-high 48.3 percent from the floor, had 30 points off 27 Goucher turnovers and scored 51 points off the bench.

Senior Amanda Johnson had seven points, seven rebounds and three steals while junior Erin Doherty added seven points and five steals. Off the bench, junior Ella Torp had three of the Cardinals' season-high nine blocked shots while adding four rebounds.

Sophomore Sarah White totaled six points and a career-high rebounds.

Catholic led 20-8 after the first quarter, limiting the Gophers (1-18, 0-11 LC) to single digits in each quarter.

The Cardinals host Moravian in their final regular season home game on Saturday for Senior Day. Tip-off is at 4 p.m. Prior to the game, the team will honor its four seniors: Johnson, Maggie Bednarek, Luca Mamula and Lauren Quesada.
