Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University women's lacrosse senior Holly Regan scored seven points to lead the No. 8 Cardinals to a 16-8 win over Scranton Saturday at Carlini Field.
Catholic (3-0, 3-0 LC) extended its Landmark Conference win streak to 41 games while improving its record against the Royals to 21-0 since joining the league's inaugural season in 2008.
Regan finished two points shy of her career high set on May 2, 2018 in a 20-6 win over Drew when she had three goals and six assists.
On Saturday, Regan totaled three goals and four assists, including two goals and two assists as the Cardinals built an 8-2 lead in the first 25 minutes.
Regan now has 93 assists in 53 career games, leaving her seven shy of becoming the sixth player in program history to reach 100. Saturday also marked her 10th career hat-trick.
Sophomore Kate Olsen totaled a career-high six goals in the win, scoring three of the team's first five goals to post her third hat-trick in as many games this season. She added three more in the second half to extend her team-lead with 13 goals and 16 points.
Regan and Olsen were two of 10 players who scored at least one point for Catholic. Eight different players had at least one goal, including junior Lauren Zelnik who netted the seventh of her career on the Cardinals' lone free position goal of the game to put them ahead 8-2 with 4:36 remaining in the first half.
Sophomore Caroline Beckett and senior Anna Maupin each finished with three points while Maupin added 10 draw controls.
Defensively, senior Nanci Hernandez made 16 saves, three shy of her career high set in a 14-9 at Washington College on March 9, 2020. She now has 486 saves in 67 career games and is currently ranked second among active players in Division III.
Junior Molly Monaghan totaled five ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover to go along with her fourth goal of the season with 5:21 left in the opening half.
Catholic returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Elizabethtown at Carlini Field beginning at 6 p.m.
