Beck Scores Nine as No. 6 Cards Down Susquehanna, 21-10

Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University women's lacrosse senior Bridget Beck totaled a career-high nine points as the No. 6 Cardinals posted a 21-10 victory over Susquehanna Wednesday on Senior Day.

Catholic (6-0, 6-0 LC) extended its conference win streak to 44 games dating back to 2013 while remaining unbeaten in 11 games at Carlini Field.

Beck dished out a career-high seven assists, a mark that ranks second in team history. The record is 11 set by Katie Buonpastore in a 21-9 win at Mary Washington on Apr 1, 2009 when she also set the program record for points with 13.

Beck is one of four players with at least seven assists in a game, joining Buonpastore, Krista Piotrowski (vs. Oneonta State, 2007) and Kate Robinson (vs. Randolph-Macon and Mary Washington, 2011).

Beck accounted for seven of the team's first 11 goals with two goals and five assists as the Cardinals held an 11-3 lead at halftime. They scored 11 goals on 18 shots in the first half.

Sophomore Caroline Beckett, who had two goals and two assists in the opening half, connected with Beck twice, assisting her first goal just 39 seconds into the game before Beck returned the favor with 5:55 remaining.

Beckett finished with a career-high five points for the second-straight game. She was one of four players who scored at least three goals, joining junior Molly Monaghan, sophomore Kate Olsen and junior Clare Richards who had a career-high four, netting her second career hat-trick in as many games.

Meanwhile, senior Holly Regan totaled six points with one goal and five assists. She had assists on four of Catholic's 10 second-half goals and now has 105 for her career, moving her past Mary Swarthout for fifth in team history.

The senior trio of Beck, Regan, Anna Maupin and Kate Behlen accounted for five goals, 13 assists and 18 points on senior day.

Defensively, senior Nanci Hernandez totaled eight saves and seniors Emily Bynoe and Michelle Brencher helped limit the River Hawks (2-3, 2-3 LC) to just 25 shots while forcing them into 19 turnovers, including 15 in the first half.

The Cardinals' seven seniors have led the team to a 41-12 record, two Landmark Conference championships and two NCAA tournament appearances as well as the team's highest-ever ranking in the IWLCA Division III Coaches Poll this year at No. 6.

Catholic closes out the regular season with back-to-back road games beginning this Saturday at Drew. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m.
