Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Fourteen different players scored a goal and 15 had at least one point as the Catholic University women's lacrosse team posted a 21-9 road win at Moravian Monday.
The Cardinals (2-0, 2-0 LC) extended their conference win streak to 40 games and 7-0 against the Greyhounds since the inaugural season of the Landmark Conference in 2008.
Senior Bridget Beck had six points, including a career-high four assists while seniors Anna Maupin and Holly Regan and sophomore Kate Olsen each had three points.
Catholic scored the game's first eight goals in just 14 minutes, including two each from Olsen, junior Clare Richards and sophomore Caroline Beckett. Beck had three assists.
Moravian (2-1, 2-1 LC) scored five of the next seven to cut its deficit in half, 10-5, netting three goals on free position attempts.
However, that would be as close as the Greyhounds would get as Beck netted her first of the game just 22 seconds later to spark a five-goal run that saw the Cardinals push their lead to 10 with just under 27 minutes to play in the second half.
Regan scored back-to-back to close the first half and start the second before Olsen netted her second consective hat-trick.
Catholic scored nine second-half goals with five marking the first of the season for senior Kate Behlen, juniors Julia Piet, Caitlyn Bowles and Lauren Zelnik and sophomore Abby Monaco.
The Cardinals scored 21 goals on 42 shots as they held a 42-18 margin in that category while forcing 26 turnovers and scooping up 25 ground balls. Beck and senior Emily Bynoe each had two caused turnovers while sophomore Kelsey Martin picked up six ground balls.
Junior Clare Richards, an Inside Lacrosse Second Team All-American in 2020 as a draw control specialist, had eight to go along with two goals and one caused turnover.
In goal, senior Nanci Hernandez and junior Rachel Searle had two saves apiece.
Monday's win also marked just the seventh time in 265 games under 15-year head coach Meghan McDonogh that Catholic played a game on Monday. The team is now 5-2 in those games.
After two games in three days, the Cardinals return home to prepare for rival Scranton on Saturday at Carlini Field. Opening draw is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
