Cardinals Finish Second at Landmark Fall Invitational

BRANCHBURG, N.J. - The Catholic University women's golf team had four finishers in the top-12 as the Cardinals finished second out of the eight conference teams at the Landmark Fall Invitational hosted by Drew at Fox Hollow Golf Club on Saturday.

The Cardinals had three players finish in a five-way tie for seventh place after shooting a 92, including freshman Mary Colella who shot a school-best 88 in the team's first-ever match on September 14. Freshman Joanna Park shaved three strokes off her 95 that day while freshman Jordan Farrell dropped four strokes off her 96.

Sophomore Tess Murphy also lowered her previous best score by four strokes, finishing in a two-way tie for 12th with a 93.

As a team, Catholic saved seven strokes off of its season-opening 376 as it finished 13 strokes behind Drew who was second at the 2018 Landmark Conference Women's Golf Championship. Marywood, who finished fifth on Saturday, won the inaugural conference championship after shooting a second-round 390.

Senior Kelly Wright matched her round from September 14 while freshmen Carolyn Mueller and Olivia Brogan each made their collegiate debut on Saturday.

Catholic returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Shenandoah University Invitational at Shenandoah Valley Golf Course in Front Royal, Virginia.
