WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Catholic women's golf team finished the Cardinal Spring Classic on Sunday afternoon by shooting a 338 to finish with a two-day score of 673 to come in second place behind Marymount (Va.).
Brooke Smith had the best individual finish for the Cardinals, shooting an 84 in the second round to finish in third place for the weekend. She finished with a birdie and seven pars during her round, including three straight pars on holes one through three.
Gabi Courtney had the best round on Sunday out of all the Cardinals with an 81 where she poured in eight pars and a birdie, including four consecutive pars at one point during the round.
Lauren Wright joined Smith with an 84 during the second round and was one of two Cardinals to record multiple birdies. Wight also collected seven pars while
Meghan Mullen matched her in birdies with two, shooting an 89 overall.
Mary McGuire was the last Catholic player to compete and finished with a 93.
Harper Capilli led the Catholic 'B' team during round two as she shot an 88 while making six pars.
Tyler Zierski also broke 90 by one stroke and poured in three pars and two birdies during her round.
The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday, April 19 at the Spartan Invitational hosted by York (Pa.).
