Scranton, Pa. - Top-seeded The Catholic University of America baseball team earned an outstanding 10-2 victory over the No. 3-seeded Elizabethtown College Blue Jays during its third game of the Landmark Conference Championship Tournament on Saturday night.

The Blue Jays scored two early runs in the second inning and kept the Cardinals scoreless through the first six innings.  

Senior Danny O'Hagan gave Catholic its first scored of the night when he sent an RBI single through the right side to bring home freshman Michael Doody in the seventh inning. Fellow senior Jack Hennessy followed with a sacrifice fly to score sophomore Connor Cozad to tie the game at two runs apiece.

With the bases loaded during the eighth inning, sophomore Jeff Guile lobbed a 2-RBI single into left field to start the Cardinals on a scoring spree. O'Hagan walked next to reload the bases and Hennessy cracked the second 2-run single of the inning to bring Catholic's advantage to 6-2.

The Cardinal's didn't stop there. With just one out in the eighth, junior Ryan Tracy recorded a single to reload the bases before senior Brennan Cotter blasted a 3-RBI double to right center. Cotter later came home off a hit from classmate Jake Crist during the nighttime triumph.

Catholic sophomore Ross Dean pitched 4.1 innings with six strikeouts before junior Collin Brown threw five Ks in 3.2 innings for the win. Senior Sean Carroll tossed out two batters in the final inning of the game.

No. 1 Catholic will face No. 3 Scranton in the Landmark Title game at 11 a.m., on Sunday, May 13.
