Cardinals Clinch Postseason Berth with 20-1 Victory Over Gophers

WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team won its fifth straight 2018 Landmark Conference game with a 20-1 triumph over Goucher College.

With the win, the Cardinals move to 9-6 overall and remain undefeated in the league while they clinch a spot in Landmark Conference postseason.

The Cardinals won 19-of-21 draw controls in the midweek contest as freshman Emily Bynoe grabbed a game-high 10. Sophomores Casey Ryan and Katie Bradbury along with junior Molly Kelly each scooped up four groundballs and fellow sophomore Wendy El caused a team-high four turnovers.

Catholic had 11 different goals scorers during the victory with 12 assists on the 20 goals.

Sophomore Holly Regan led the Cardinals with seven points on four goals and three assists while Bradbury scored three times and dished out one helper. Kelly notched four points of her own on two goals and two assists.

Senior Nicolette Crisalli scored two first-half goals and tallied an assist on Bradbury's second-half shot. Sophomore Nicole DiFabio slotted Catholic's 10th goal of the event and later tossed an assist to Kelly before she scored the Cardinal's final goal of the evening.

Junior Jessica Lyons netted the ball twice while her classmate Erin Dugan along with El each scored once. Freshmen Sydney Hartman and Bridget Beck along with sophomore Ally Criscuolo each collected two points on one goal and one assist.

Sophomore Nanci Hernandez earned her eighth win of the year as she split time guarding the Catholic cage with junior Christina De Cesaris.

The Cardinals look to remain unbeaten in Landmark play as they are set to host Moravian College on Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m.
