WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America baseball team was eliminated from the Landmark Conference Tournament after a 13-3 loss to Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon.

Susquehanna scored runs in six of the games' nine innings, including a grand slam in the third.

Catholic junior Alec Dolton put the Cardinals on the board with an RBI single to right field in the third inning scoring fellow junior Anthony Ferlise.

Trailing 10-1 in the eighth inning, senior Nicholas Kuczarski stepped to the plate and hit a rocket over the center field fence scoring classmate Thien-Quoc Tran.

Freshman Ross Dean started on the mound for the Cardinals and junior David Gately took over in the third inning. Seniors Jonah Jimenez and Mark Duffy threw relief before junior Sean Carroll took the rubber.

Senior Christopher Hutton took the mound in the ninth for the final game of his career. Fellow senior Joseph Prego stepped in to make his final appearance before their classmate Joseph Salzano threw the last out of the inning. To cap off his career as Catholic's star closer, Salzano caught Susquehanna's Danny Gordon swinging.

The Cardinals finish out their 2017 season with a 28-14 overall record and the Landmark Conference Regular Season Crown.
