Box Score WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America baseball team dropped its midweek contest, 8-7 to Marymount on Thursday afternoon.
Trailing 4-0, Catholic junior Brennan Cotter drove in senior Paul Burmester and freshman Cid Porter in the top of the third with a three-run homer over the right field fence. The Saints answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to maintain the lead (6-3).
Burmester followed with a solo home run in the fifth and Porter drove in senior Wyatt Schmidt in the sixth.
Marymount got another run across the plate in the seventh before Catholic rallied with a two-run double from junior Anthony Ferlise in the ninth to tie the game at 7. The Saints capitalized on their final opportunity and brought a runner home in the ninth to walk-off with the victory.
The Cardinals are set to host the Seahawks of St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, April 29 in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
