WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America women's lacrosse team has advanced to its ninth consecutive Landmark Conference Championship Final after an 18-4 semifinal victory over Drew University on Wednesday evening.

The Mid-Atlantic Regionally Ranked No. 8 Cardinals advance ther 2016 record to 10-7. They have won seven titles in their eight appearances including last years' Landmark Championship.

Catholic University head coach Meghan McDonogh utilized the majority of her bench in the semifinal match up. The Cardinals had 10 different goal scorers with juniors Alexis Bosilovic and Laura Dunn leading the way with three goals apiece.

Cardinal rookie Jessica Lyons put two shots between the pipes with classmate Molly Kelly scored one goal and issued one assist.

Bosilovic started off the Catholic scoring after turning over a Ranger clear attempt in the third minute of play, ripping a breakaway shot into the back of the cage. Goals from junior Clair Schmitzer (1), Ana Brandenburg (2), Emily Merkel (2) and Dunn (3) along with sophomore Nicolette Crisalli (2) followed in the first half. Two more from Bosilovic along with two Rangers goals came before the intermission leaving the score 13-2 in favor of the reigning Landmark Champions at halftime.

Juniors Anna Stumme (1) and Jenna Van Middelem (1) put shots in the net during the second half, along with Kelly's point and both of Lyon's goals. Catholic only let up two additional goals in the second 30 minutes, bringing the Landmark Conference semifinal score to an outstanding 18-4. The Cardinals punched their ninth ticket to the finals in nine seasons.

Catholic's draw control specialist, junior Allie Bond, won 11 draws during the contest. Freshman goalie Christina De Cesaris made 10 saves in the conference semifinals, giving up just three goals in 47 minutes. Senior Brittnee Frizol finished out the game between the pipes, making thee saves.
