Selinsgrove, Pa.- The Catholic University of America baseball team fell to Susquehanna University in both games of a Landmark Conference double-header. The Cardinals fell 12-6 in game one and 4-3 in game two.

The Cardinals got on the board early in game one with three runs in the top of the first. With two runners on, freshman Bailey Lewis hit a double into right center bringing home senior Stefan Poggioli.  Sophomore Anthony Ferlise followed with a double of his own to score sophomore Jake Crist and Lewis.

The Crusaders brought one across in the bottom of the second and the Cards struck again in the top of the third. Lewis led off with a double and came home when sophomore Danny O'Hagan singled to left field. Later in the inning, senior Andrew Stewart sent a solo homer into right field. Up next, junior Wyatt Schmidt doubled to left center, and came home when sophomore Matt Hsiung hit an RBI-single.

The Crusaders answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning, scoring in each of the remaining three innings to earn a 12-6 conference victory.

In game two, Susquehanna scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second to get on the board first. Catholic answered with an RBI-single from Poggioli in the top of the third.

Tied at one a-piece the Crusaders broke away with three runs in the fourth inning. The Cardinals rallied with an RBI from sophomore Brennan Cotter in the sixth and an unearned run from sophomore Alec Dolton in the seventh but came up short in the end of seven innings.

The Cards and Crusaders will continue the three game series in Selinsgrove, Pa., on Tuesday, April 12, at 3:30 p.m.
