Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Elizabethtown, Pa. - The Catholic University of America baseball team split with Elizabethtown College on day two of its three-game Landmark series. The Cardinals captured game one with a winning score of 4-1 and fell in game two, 3-1.

In game one the Blue Jays notched the opening run in the first inning. Their lead wouldn't last for long. A bases-loaded sacrifice fly from Catholic sophomore Danny O'Hagan in the top of the second inning scored fellow sophomore Anthony Ferlise, to put the Cards on the board.

The Cardinals broke the game open in the top of the fourth inning with three runs to bring the score to 4-1. Freshman Ryan Tracy sent a double down the right field line to bring home both O'Hagan and senior Stefan Poggioli. Tracy made his way across the plate when the next batter, senior John Palladino, sent a single into right center.

The game went scoreless in the final three innings ending 4-1 in favor of Catholic.

Senior Colin Kelly earned his first win of the 2016 season after pitching all seven innings and throwing six strikeouts.

Elizabethtown notched two runs early in the second game with a 2-RBI double in the first inning. The Blue Jays scored another in the fourth to bring their tally to three.

The Cardinals went scoreless in game two until a seven-inning rally. Poggioli put Catholic on the board when he came across the plate on and RBI single from junior Paul Burmester. The Cardinals managed to get the tying runs into scoring position with two outs, but the Blue Jays earned the final out to split the afternoon.
