Box Score WASHINGTON – The Catholic University of America men's lacrosse team wrapped up a three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium, coming from behind to down Marywood, 11-10. CUA trailed 3-0 in the first quarter, but scored eight-straight goals and held off a late Pacer push to secure the win.
CUA won each of its three games since returning to Cardinal Stadium and are undefeated (6-0) on its home field in 2016.
The Cardinals were down early to start the game after three goals by Marywood attack Cody Bachman. An adjustment by head coach Brooks Singer however kept Bachman off the scoresheet for the rest of the day.
Catholic also answered on the scoreboard with eight goals in less than 20 minutes to take an 8-3 advantage into the break.
After going ahead in the first, CUA led from then on out, quelling several rallies by Marywood as they closed within a goal three times in the final 13 minutes.
Senior goalkeeper Harrison Holak posted double-digit saves for the seventh time this season, stopping 12 shots for his sixth victory of the year.
Six different Cardinals scored in the game, led by three goals from sophomore Bennett Bradley. The first-year transfer from Army West Point put five of his nine shots on goal and picked up four ground balls.
Junior Tim Keith also scored in the contest and assisted on the game-tying goal in the first period. His assist gave him 100 career points.
Catholic opens Landmark Conference play as it hits the road in its next game, playing at Goucher on Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m.
