WASHINGTON – No. 11 CUA raced past Susquehanna 16-3 on Saturday on an afternoon filled with rain and wind. The Cardinals scored the game's first ten goals and coasted to their ninth win of the season.  Meghan Brady netted a team-high five goals in her return to action for CUA, while Mary Swarthout scored four times.

Brady scored her first goal of the day less than a minute into the game to put CUA on top 1-0.  Swarthout then netted back-to-back goals to put the Cardinals in front 3-0 with 23:38 remaining before halftime.

Kelly Ryan got into the act with a score with 22:45 to play and Brady and Swarthout then combined for the next four goals to put the Cardinals on top 8-0 with 14:31 remaining in the half.

Two more Cardinal scores by Mary and Kate Robinson made it 10-0 before Michelle McGinniss got Susquehanna on the board with a goal late in the half to send the teams into intermission with CUA up by nine.

Swarthout scored the first goal of the second half and Katie Buonpastore soon followed with CUA's 12th goal to make it an 11-goal advantage.

Brady and Davenport netted two more goals to up the Cardinals lead to 14-1 before Sarah Wright found the back of the net with 9:25 to play for the Crusaders' second goal.

Christy Sisko scored on a free position shot with 6:37 remaining to make it 15-2 and following Susquehanna's third score, Lauren Bernstein closed things out with a goal with 3:55 on the clock.

CUA out shot the Crusaders 30-18 on the day and scooped up 17 ground balls.  Brady and Kate Robinson led the Cardinals with three GBs apiece, while Robinson caused a team-high two turnovers.

Gabby Sena got the start in goal and sent back seven shots, while Yasmeen Aldari played the final 13:53 and made several great stops, finishing with five total.

The Cardinals return to action on Thursday, April 21 when they play host to McDaniel.  Start time from inside Cardinal Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
