DuPree and Winter Lead the Pack at Day Two of the Patriot Games

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Catholic men's track and field team competed on the second day of the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason.

Teammates Kendrick DuPree and Peter Winter finished first and second in the 500 meter, respectively. DuPree raced a 1:06.89, barely behind his personal best. Winter earned a time of 1:08.00, a new best that moves him up to fifth from sixth place in the program record books. 

Drew Madden completed the heptathlon with the 60 meter hurdles and pole vault. The freshman raced an 8.95 in the event, placing fourth. Madden chalked up 2.74 meters in the pole vault, a height equivalent to his previous personal record.

Freshman Michael Brunet earned a personal best 4:25.92 in the mile. David Stango tallied his personal best in the event with a time of 4:35.34. Tim Brown also earned a personal best at 4:41.93. 
Brunet also earned a personal best time in the 3000 meter. With the time of 8:58.20, the freshman remains as the fifth best performer in program history. Sophomore Patrick Morris also earned a personal best at 9:32.26. 

Gabe Devaney earned a personal best time of 9.12 in the 60 meter hurdle semis. 

Romell Randolph ran a 7.24 in the 60 meter hurdles as the lone Cardinal competitor. 

In the 400 meter, Emmanuel Olarewaju raced a 53.81. 

Romell and Olarewaju both ran in the 200 meter. Romell tallied 23.00 and sixth place. Olarewaju logged his season best time of 24.07. 

Brady Falcon and Augustine Howard competed in the 800 meter. Falcon ran a 2:01.20, while Howard earned a 2:02.39. 

Teammates Shane Waring and Joshua Leon finished back-to-back in the 1000 meter. Waring finished with 2:50.70 and Leon followed with 2:50.88.

In the long jump, Brandon Hancock jumped 5.92 meters and teammate Adrian Villatoro followed with 5.80 meters. 

Nick Chang logged his season best of 11.96 meters in the triple jump.

Junior Warren Gillis threw 11.04 meters in the shot put. Freshman Benjamin Warr threw 10.52 meters. 

In the weight throw, Caden Lopez chalked up 10.90 meters, Mark Enamorado tallied 10.34 meters, and Warr threw 9.13 meters. 

Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Blue & White Invite hosted by Franklin and Marshall. The meet will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th.
