LANCASTER, Pa. – The Catholic men's track and field team traveled to Franklin & Marshall to compete in the Coach I Invite.
Calvin Hernandez qualified for the 60 meter finals out of 84 athletes. In the finals he placed second with a time of 7.04 seconds. Hernandez also placed fifth out of 69 runners in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.61.
Romell Randolph also competed in the 200 meter dash and placed 21st with a time of 24.10.
Caden Lopez threw a new personal best in the weight throw with a distance of 12.05 meters.
In the 3000m,
Richard Harrington earned a new personal best with his sixth place finish time of 9:18.173.
Tim Sweeney placed eleventh with a time of 9:27.59. Three Cardinals finished in succession in 14th, 15th, and 16th place.
Patrick Morris was the first of the three with a personal best time of 9:32.81.
Daniel Ponciano also earned a personal best time of 9:36.94.
Tim Brown was the third of that group with a time of 9:37.25.
David Stango raced a season best of 4:51.10 in the mile and placed 29th of 56th runners as the fastest Cardinal finisher in the event.
Shane Waring also collected a season best with his 41st place finish and time of 4:59.81.
Two of Catholic's relay teams finished neck and neck, only .01 seconds between them. The team of

Romell Randolph,
Calvin Hernandez, and
Emmanuel Olarewaju placed ninth with a time of 3:35.78. The relay team consisting of
Colin Matthews,
Augustine Howard,
Marco Indelicato,
Gabe Devaney placed tenth with their time of 3:35.79.
Adrian Villatoro placed third in the long jump with his distance of 6.40m. This personal best breaks his previous record and he remains seventh in the Catholic record books.
Brandon Hancock achieves a season best jump of 5.99m and an eighth place finish.
Quinn Brubaker jumped 1.73m in the high jump and placed seventh out of 22 athletes.
Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Patriot Games in Fairfax, Va. hosted by George Mason. The meet will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 30th and continue on Saturday, January 31st.
