Brigid Byrnes and
Kate Inglis won events and set championship records to earn All-Landmark First Team honors, leading a group of 13 Catholic athletes honored today.
Byrnes won the 400 hurdles, breaking a program record, a Landmark Conference record, and a Championship Meet record in the process, crossing the finish line in 1:01.90, putting her in strong position for a bid into the NCAA Championship field. Byrnes added a second team all-conference honor as a member of the 4x400 relay as well. The 2024 Outdoor Rookie of the Year now has four first-team selections and six all-conference honors in total.
Inglis won the steeplechase, setting the Landmark Championship meet record by more than 14 seconds with a time of 10:54.35. She is also the Landmark Conference record holder with a time of 10:49.69. The 2024 Landmark Indoor Track Athlete of the Year now holds four All-Landmark First Team selections and eight all-conference honors in total.
Joining Byrnes on the second team due to their performance in the 4x400 relay are
Zoey Brown,
Clare Marsh, and
Mia McConnell. The quartet broke their own conference record by over two seconds, finishing second to a blazing-fast Goucher team. Catholic crossed the finish line in 3:52.75, one of the 50 fastest times in the country this season. Brown has three all-conference selections, Marsh has 13, and McConnell has four.
McConnell grabbed a second spot on the All-Landmark Second Team in the 400 hurdles, running a personal-best time of 1:02.95 to finish behind Byrnes.
The 4x100 relay team also placed second to grab an all-conference nod as
Erin Buckley,
Sarah Schumacher,
Kortney Clipper, and
Felicity Giampietro clocked a time of 48.07, a program record. Buckley has three all-conference honors, Schumacher has four, Clipper has two, and Giampietro has four.
Laurel McMahon grabbed Catholic's final spot on the All-Landmark Second Team, finishing second in the 10,000 with a time of 40:00.56. She also earned an honorable mention honor in the 5,000 with a time of 18:29.48. She now has three all-conference honors.
Ciara Donegan,
Madi Fuerst, Marsh, and
Emily Moehringer also were named Honorable Mention All-Landmark with third-place finishes. Donegan took third in the shot put with a 12.01-meter toss and Fuerst finished third in the pole vault with a program record-tying 3.40-meter vault. On the track, Marsh finished third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.96 while Moehringer broke the program record in the 800 with the 14th-fastest time in the country (2:09.89) and finished third in the 1,500 with a time of 4:36.89.
