PHILADELPHIA, Pa. / ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - For the third time this season, and second time in two days, the Catholic women's 4x400 program and Landmark Conference record fell.
Running in the finals of the College 4x400 Eastern event at the Penn Relays on Saturday evening,
Mia McConnell,
Brigid Byrnes,
Clare Marsh, and
Zoey Brown raced to a second-place finish, falling only to Division I Bryant. The quartet blazed past the program record time, crossing the finish line in 3:54.42 to move into the top-25 nationally. The record was broken in 2024 at the Penn Relays when Marsh,
Emily Moehringer, Brown, and Byrnes posted a time of 3:57.92, but Catholic has broken it at Towson and twice at the Penn Relays in 2025.Â
Also running in the finals at the Relays,
Erin Buckley,
Sarah Schumacher,
Kortney Clipper, and
Felicity Giampietro placed sixth in the College 4x100 Eastern, clocking a time of 49.86 in the pouring rain, the seventh-fastest time in program history.Â
Catholic also had a number of student-athletes competing at the Blue Jay Tune-Up hosted by Elizabethtown.
Alicia Vo had a strong day, placing eighth in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 10.20 meters. Vo remains third on the all-time performance list, but improved on her top mark by 0.08 meters. She also grabbed 10th on the all-time list in the long jump, placing 12th with a 4.79-meter jump.Â
Other notable finishes included
Georgia Nussey placing third in the 1,500 with a time of 4:52.25,
Molly Maxwell finishing third in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 36.44 meters,
Ciara Donegan with a second place finish in the shot put (12.05m) and an event win from
Madi Fuerst in the pole vault (3.22m).Â
