WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic men's lacrosse head coach Jon Sax announced that he is stepping down from his position at this time. Sax will be stepping away to pursue a career path outside of the world of collegiate lacrosse.
Hired in June of 2020, Sax spent three seasons as the head coach of the Catholic program, compiling an overall record of 27-16 while losing just twice in Landmark Conference play.
Catholic won two of the program's four all-time Landmark Championships under Sax, making two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Sax and his staff were named Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022.
Sax will stay on temporarily as the nationwide search for his replacement begins immediately. Catholic will now set its sights on hiring just the third head coach in program history.
