EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. - Catholic used a 14-goal first quarter to pull away with a 29-6 victory at Wilkes on Saturday afternoon, completing the regular season. The Cardinals earned the number-four seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament and will host Moravian on Tuesday.
Billy Burton and
Victor Rosado each totaled six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in the victory to pace Catholic. With 69 points on the season, Rosado is now tied for third in single-season points and holds three of the top four spots in program history. He is six points shy of the record set by Kevin Crowley in 2022.
John Hadden and
Joe Devine each recorded hat tricks while
Matt Moore,
Steven Dezelic,
Liam Hill, and
Alejandro Masferrer scored two goals each.
Bailey Wallace handed out three assists while
Ryan Carickhoff and
Will Gilfillan each dished out two.
Ryan Macksoud led a strong day at the face-off X, winning 15-of-16 tries while
Jack Suchanek and
Connor Baia combined for 17 more face-off victories. Macksoud had nine ground balls for Catholic while Baia added seven.
Shawn Zebrowski caused two turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
Catholic scored the first 18 goals of the game across the first 21 minutes before Wilkes got on the board for the first time with five minutes left in the second.
Cullen Lotz, Moore, Rosado, and Burton all scored within the first five minutes of the contest to make it 5-0.
Logan Farrington made it 10-0 with 4:58 to play before Burton finished off a four-goal first quarter to give the Cardinals a 14-0 lead after one.
Dezelic scored the first two goals of the second and Gilfillan scored the final goal of the first half, sending Catholic to the break up 19-1.
Bjorn Olofson, Masferrer, and
John Hadden scored Catholic's three third-quarter goals, giving them a 22-3 lead after 45 minutes.
Devine scored a fourth-quarter hat trick, contributing three of Catholic's seven goals in the period while
TJ Pikul got on the board with 4:23 to play, scoring his first career goal.
All four Catholic goalies saw team with each making at least one save. The group combined for 13 with the breakdown being

Liam Daly (2),
Luke McNabb (1).
The Cardinals and Greyhounds will play in the Landmark Conference First Round at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Carlini Field.
