Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic men's lacrosse program dropped its Landmark Conference finale at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon, falling 18-9. The Cardinals will be the number three seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament and will head to Scranton on Wednesday for the semifinals.
Four players combined to score all nine goals for Catholic with Luke D'Ambrogi leading the way with a hat trick. Victor Rosado scored a pair of goals and dished out three assists while Fitz McLaughlin and Mike Mulligan each chipped in with a pair of goals on the day. Nic Pezone made eight saves in the cage for the Cardinals.
The Blue Jays took control early, scoring nine of the first 11 goals to gain the edge on Catholic. D'Ambrogi scored a pair of goals within a minute of each other to tie the contest at 2-2 before Elizabethtown ended the period on a 7-0 run.
After the Blue Jays scored the first goal of the second, Mulligan and McLaughlin followed to narrow the gap to six with 9:07 left in the half, but Elizabethtown sandwiched goals around Mulligan's second to take a seven-goal advantage at halftime.
Catholic was outscored just 6-4 in the second half of the contest. Connor Pierce, Brendan Falatko, Collin Stein and Pezone each had three ground balls for Catholic. Pierce, Pezone and Sam Pikul each caused a turnover.
