Despite Push to Final Day, Catholic's Postseason Hopes Fall just Short

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Catholic University women's tennis team fell to Moravian on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Cardinals were eliminated from postseason contention. In Nate Farlow's first season as head coach, Catholic was able to battle until the final day of the regular season but ultimately could not knock off the Greyhounds to earn its way into the Landmark Conference tournament.

The Catholic duo of Marissa Stambaugh and Bridget McCabe battled at No. 3 doubles, eventually falling 4-8. Stambaugh also played at No. 4 singles, dropping that match 2-6, 1-6.

Abbey Cassidy fought hard at No. 1 singles, taking four games of her top Greyhound challenger. She fell 1-6, 3-6.

With the victory, Moravian clinched the two seed in the Landmark Conference tournament, earning itself a home semifinal match.

Catholic will look to see if it are able to reschedule their non-conference match against Stevenson before calling its season over.
