ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic men's tennis team was dominant on Sunday afternoon, earning an 8-1 victory at Elizabethtown. The Blue Jays had just five active participants giving the Cardinals forfeit victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
James Earwood, Diego Romo, and Matt Rudolf each earned a pair of victories during the match. Earwood and Allan Van Nostrand combined for an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles before Earwood picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Romo and Rudolf won their No. 2 doubles match 8-1. Romo followed that up with a 6-0, 6-0 win while Rudolf conceded just one game, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Henry Ogden won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 doubles in a complete team effort for the Cardinals. At No. 1 singles, Van Nostrand battled with Max Lauver, but ultimately fell 6-3, 5-7, 7-10.
Catholic will hit the road on Wednesday, taking on Frostburg State.
