Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic men's tennis team had a stellar showing at home on Sunday against Elizabethtown. The Cardinals defeated the Blue Jays 7-0 in the Landmark Conference meeting.
Catholic began the match with wins across all three doubles slots.
Ian Arenas and
Lorenzo Neri paired up on court one, battling Stefanos Billis and Austin Kohler. They secured the win, 6-3.
Jake Hershey and
Flynn Hollinger faced off against Tyran Kraychik and Zach Hinkel on court two, securing the victory, 6-1.
Jay Harper and
Luke Hynes defeated Connor Gurekovich and Brian Hall in similar fashion, securing the sweep on court three, 6-1.
In singles, Catholic won in straight sets on all six courts. On court one, Neri took down Stefanos Billis 6-1, 6-0.
Drew Andrianopoulos defeated Brian Hall similarly, winning 6-1, 6-0 on court four.
Hollinger had a tougher battle on court two, taking on Austin Kohler. Despite the fight from Kohler, Hollinger remained in the lead, winning 6-3, 6-3. Harper also had a tough set one on court five, defeating Connor Gurekovich 6-4. He then shut out Gurekovich 6-0 in set two.
Charlie Robbins and
Francis DeLucia also contributed to Catholic's shutout victory. DeLucia had a double bagel victory over Ryan Kraychik on court three, winning 6-0, 6-0. Robbins won in straight sets in slot six, defeating Zach Hinkel 6-0, 6-1.
