SALISBURY, Md. — The Catholic University tennis team traveled to Salisbury to open its spring season, falling to the Sea Gulls 9-0.
Diego Romo fought hard at No. 2 singles, dropping the first set by a break then ultimately succumbing to Aron Burstyn. Leyton Ramos-Platt also dropped the first set of his match at No. 6 singles by a single break before falling in straight sets.
Henry Ogden and Nathaniel Barish got off to a hot start at No. 3 doubles. They lead the match 3-2 before ultimately coming up short, 8-4.
Catholic's next match will mark the beginning of the team's spring break trip. The Cardinals will play three matches over five days in Hilton Head, S.C., as part of the Spring Tennis Fest. Nate Farlow's men will face Brevard on Monday, March 6 to begin the trip.
