PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Catholic University men's rowing concluded its time at the Dad Vail Regatta with a victory and two podium finishes on Saturday.
Catholic's novice four rowed to victory in the petite final, posting a time of 6:41.19. Its challengers in the final included Georgia Tech, MSOE, Stockton and two boats from West Point.
The Cardinals bested West Point's top boat by 5.99 seconds to claim the win. Catholic's time was the second-best of any novice four that competed at the Dad Vail.
The varsity four posted a third-place finish in the "D" final, crossing the line in 7:02.94. The Cardinal boat came across just 6.56 seconds behind MSOE, who claimed first place, and less than a second behind runners-up Case Western. Catholic finished ahead of both Colorado and St. Mary's (Md.).
Catholic will now turn its attention to the 2022 International Rowing Association Championships Regatta. The national event will take place at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J., on the weekend of June 3-5.
