LORTON, Va. - The Catholic University men's rowing team competed in the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships on Sunday on the Occoquan River, placing sixth out of nine teams.
In heat 1, the men's varsity eight competed against Milwaukee School of Engineering, Lehigh, Bucknell and Stockton. Catholic crossed the line in third with a time of 6:15.9. The third-place finish granted the Cardinals an appearance in the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final, Catholic's varsity eight competed against Washington College, Lehigh, Adrian, Bucknell and Villanova, finishing sixth in a time of 6:20.8. Bucknell took first with a time 5:58.8.
Catholic's second varsity eight competed against Bucknell (A) and Bucknell (B). The Cardinals placed second with a time 6:40.5 while Bucknell (A) finished first with a time of 6:20.1 and Bucknell (B) rounded out the event with a time of 7:06.8. In the final, the Cardinals placed second once again with a time of 6:42.6.
Catholic returns to action at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. on the Schuylkill River May 7-8.
