Trailing 3-1, Catholic erupted for nine runs in the top of the fifth, its highest scoring inning this season. After RBI singles by senior Matt Tesoriero and graduate student Billy Duke tied the game, a two-run double by freshman Lucas Malave put the Cardinals back in front, 5-3.
Malave then scored on a single by freshman Joe Marini before an error and back-to-back walks loaded the bases for Giombetti with two outs. Giombetti launched his 13th home run over the left field wall for what proved to be the game-winning runs as Catholic led, 10-3.
It was the 11th game this season in which Giombetti homered as he is averaging roughly one home run every three games.
Susquehanna got three runs back with one in the fifth and two in the seventh, but the Cardinals put the game out of reach with three runs of their own in the eighth on an RBI-single by junior Derek Zelesnick and a two-run single by junior Zach Burton.
Tesoriero scored the final run in the ninth after stealing third and scoring on a throwing error by the River Hawks.

Senior Jack Zaffiro made his 10th start of the season on the mound, allowing four runs and six walks while striking out 2.2 innings. Freshman Cody Bosak earned his second win in relief, scattering seven hits and allowing just two earned runs while striking out five over 3.2 innings of work.
Junior Brendan Martin pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth, surrending just two hits and striking out three.
