CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Catholic University men's rowing team competed in the Knecht Cup on Saturday on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Competing against Marist, Mercyhurst, Bucknell, Adrian, and Maryland, the Cardinals' varsity eight came in fifth with a time of 6:33.61. Marist won the race, crossing the line in a time of 5:53:52. In the Semi final race, Catholic competed against Colgate, Mercyhurst, Trinity, Adrian and Connecticut and placed in fifth with a time of 6:40.61. The men's varsity eight will compete again on Sunday in the Third Final.
Catholic's second varsity eight will compete on Sunday against Stockton, Rollins A, Susquehanna and Rollins B in the Final.
Catholic's varsity four competed against Adrian and Susquehanna and placed second with a time of 8:34.87. Adrian won the race with a time of 7:20.69. The men's varsity four will compete again on Sunday in the final.
Catholic's novice four competed against Michigan, Villanova, Iona, and NY Maritime and placed fourth with a time of 9:10.39. Michigan won the race with a time of 7:47.00.
The Cardinals will conclude the Knecht Cup on Sunday in the event finals beginning at 7:30 a.m.
